HAPPY SPRING and a Trip to Newburyport, MA

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. We had a very enjoyable time this weekend when our friend Harold came to visit. Amber (our sheepdog) was so happy to have someone new to play with.

As you can see from the pictures above, one of our outtings was in Newburyport and this town is a VERY dog friendly town. This cute little tea house had "tea and crumpets" for the puppy dogs on the sidewalk...well, really "water and dog biscuits" in a big tea cup and teapot! How cute!!

As you can see Amber was helping herself, but Uncle Harold was trying to teach her to just take one biscuit at a time...yeah, right...she's a DOG! Anyway, we kept our visit brief and headed onto Starbucks for a coffee and to drop off a mobile phone we found on the street...thankfully, the phone had a "home" number programmed, so I called and left a message that the phone would be safe and sound at Starbucks...hopefully, the rightful owner got it okay...

Then, it was off to check out some other stores and do some more people watching. A couple of GREAT shops that you must check out the next time you are in town....

Grand Trunk Old World Market, 53 Pleasant Street, 978.499.4441 -- this place has great cheeses, pate, baguette, wine and other gourmet goodies. They usually always have cheese samples out to try, too....hmmm...yummy!!! It's located across the street from this church

Ballotin Chocolates, 16 Unicorn Street, 978.465.3800 www.ballotinchocolates.com -- this is a new shop in Newburyport with an AMAZING selection of hand crafted chocolates from chocolate artists from New York to Paris....and the owner/chef went to Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Paris http://www.cordonbleu.edu/ (ironically enough, Richard and I had visited Le Cordon Bleu School when we were in Paris on 9/11/01). They have some chocolate samples out for you to try and so many different chocolates to choose from. One funny thing they had was a bar of chocolate called "Bochoc" (mocking Botox) and it looked like a prescription with instructions on what it was used for. What a hoot!
Well, have a good week and HAPPY SPRING!
Chris & Richard
