A Winner at the Topsfield Fair!

Tonight, we ventured out in the rain to the 182nd Topsfield Fair in Topsfield, MA. We were volunteering at Coolidge Hall where all the arts and crafts were. We were very happy to see that one of our images that was submitted won a ribbon! The image of Frederico, our Maine Coon Cat, won an Honorable Mention for 5th place in the Professional Photography Division.

There is a little story behind the picture. One evening, we had a pregnancy photoshoot and our client's husband gave us a couple of lobsters he had just caught. He put them in a paper bag for the ride home. When I got home, Frederico wanted to see what I had in the bag. I pulled out one of the lobsters to show it to him -- you should have seen his big saucer eyes! He ran for the hills! Then I had the ugly task of cooking the lobsters (I hate that part -- especially when they scream!!). So I put the bag on the chest of drawers across from the stove until I was done. Who jumped up into the bag but Mr. Curiosity, Frederico. He could smell the lobsters but couldn't find them! So, at that point, Richard suggested I run and get the camera to document this curious little cat's adventure! So glad I did! The handsome little guy is sitting on my lap right now as I type this. I hope this award doesn't go to his head! If you have a chance, stop by the Topsfield Fair to see all the wonderful exhibits. There are so many talented people out there! Have a great week!
