Road Trip to Ogunquit, Maine!

Well, the McGarry's are on the road again (surprise, surprise). Those of you who call us often know that the best way to reach us is on our mobile phones and 9 times out of 10, we are "in the car". : ) We just love to travel and explore.

Today, we headed up to Ogunquit, Maine. We wanted to go to breakfast at the Egg & I, but the line was down the street, so we turned around and decided to try this place called Bintliff's (http://www.bintliffsogunquit.com/). We had no idea what to expect. When we walked inside, we felt like we were in an interior design store! It was beautiful! Lots of antiques and beautiful decorations. Someone really knew what they were doing and had fun doing it! We took a couple of pictures. And, the food was spectacular!

I had the Vegetable Benedict (check the Brunch menu on their website and scroll down to see what is in this). Richard had the standard Eggs Benedict. Of course, we also had coffee and I had OJ to start (awesome OJ). We would highly recommend this place. In addition to the ambiance and the wonderful food, the service was very good, too. See, everything happens for a reason -- had there not been a long line at the Egg & I, we never would have tried this place!

After breakfast, we headed to Ogunquit Beach. We had brought our bathing suits and all of our beach attire in case the sun came out (and it did!). It was low tide and the waves were spectacular. We walked the beach a bit; read a bit; and sunned a bit. We were there from 11-2 and then the wind changed and it got kinda cool, so we headed out. Great weather for kites!

We drove back through Wells Beach to check out all the cute cottages and some of the new homes that have been built right on the water. Some of them were so beautiful....cute little decks, lots of windows and great views. Of course, we had to stop at DQ for an ice cream (that was our lunch) and then we headed home. All in all, it was a great day and very relaxing.....I need more of those. Can't believe vacation is almost over : ( It's very sad....we need to have more vacation time like Europeans do.....

Have a great weekend and look for other posts on our adventures elsewhere and some of our new slideshows!
